three.
This look comprises rib stock nylon, 5G radiation Blocking Nylon, and upcycled Seatbelt Straps.
For this look, I went to a local car junk yard and cut out over 200 seatbelts from decrepit cars. When you drive a car, you wear a seatbelt to be protected, yet, you cannot be saved by the unpredictable. Facial Recognition technology is growing fast; good or bad, right or wrong, hard to say, but just like you protect yourself in a car, you must protect yourself in society. The woven pattern represents the grid we live in, a grid of technology, and how it is all around us. I carefully wove the skirt on the model, creating a secure-fitting bottom.
I found a vintage military sleeping bag for the top, which I used as inspiration. Through drape exploration and sketched designs, I mimicked the sleeping bag in its original form to create a new sleeve design. You use a sleeping bag as protection from the elements to rest and be secure, adding to a high-security level in this look. This Jacket is fully lined in 5G radiation-blocking Nylon, allowing the wearer to be off-grid from all devices stored within. The Green Screen Color code allows the Jacket to be seen from multiple perspectives, showing through the human eye what it is and what can be through a screen.
